Overview
The Viavi ORL-85 is a SmartClass fiber inspection-ready optical return loss meter designed for field deployment and installation verification. With a measurement wavelength range of 1260 to 1650 nm and return loss capability up to 70 dB, the instrument combines return loss measurement, optical power measurement, light source functions, and fiber end-face inspection in a portable platform. High-speed laser systems, analog transmission systems (CATV), and Raman amplifier systems require high return loss for optimal performance, making accurate return loss measurement critical for system reliability.
